ECONOMIC IMPACT

A casino in Manhattan will generate more revenue, more jobs, more tourism, and more support for local businesses than any other location. A New York State—commissioned study projected that a destination casino in Manhattan would create the most absolute and net taxable gaming revenue for the city, State, and MTA — 14% more revenue than a casino in Queens. Also, Manhattan has the highest visitation from out-of-state residents. More visitors from out-of-state means more net new spending and revenue for the State.

SUPPORTING LOCAL DINING AND FLAVORS

In addition to globally recognized names including Danny Meyer and Stephen Starr, The Avenir has partnered with some of the West Side neighborhood’s favorite eateries, including Don Antonio, Empanada Mama, and Sarge’s Deli. Hell’s Kitchen and Michelin-acclaimed restaurateur and sommelier Yannick Benjamin’s focus on wine and spirits will be woven throughout the dining areas. Additional spaces to support entrepreneurship and innovation will be offered to local restaurants on an ongoing basis.

RESTAURANT PARTNERS

Other restaurant partners include renowned chef and restaurateur Pim Techamuanvivit, a modern Spanish tapas restaurant from Madrid-based Sala De Despiece — its first in the U.S. — and Nancy Silverton’s James Beard Award–winning Italian specialties. The Avenir will also introduce a unique retail space and showcase kitchen. This “Taste of New York” food concept will sell hyper-local New York City produce along with the best of New York State’s food and drink vendors.

“This is a unique opportunity to create a high-end dining experience in a neighborhood that will attract people from all over the world while serving as a new resource for those living in the neighborhood.”
